Meet the Manager - Rachel Brindley

"I've always known I wanted a career in fitness, even when I was at school.

When I left I did two NVQ's in Activity Leadership and Operational Services at college, and my first job was at a health club in Wilmslow, where I completed a six month apprenticeship and qualified as a Level 2 fitness instructor.

Moving on to Stockport Sports Trust, I took more qualifications including lifeguarding and my Level 3 Advanced Instructor course.

After five years working for the Trust I was promoted to Duty Manager and from there I went to work for one of the most exclusive hotels in Manchester, managing the spa and health club at The Radisson Edwardian in the city centre.

When I heard Ladyzone was opening in Altrincham I applied for the job because I really wanted to work at a place where I could connect with the members, and work closely with them to help them reach their goals.

I've always loved sport and I get a real kick out of seeing people get results from the gym. It's great that I can be with them for every step of their fitness journey here.

I'm especially looking forward to welcoming women who have never had the confidence to join a gym before, as I'm confident that at Ladyzone we can help everyone, no matter what their shape, size or experience.

Away from the gym I play football for Stockport County HNR, and have been part of the team for 12 years. I also live next to the Stockport County football ground with my partner, so try to get to as many home games as possible."
